We want to help you launch your own Climate Action Campaign!
Be part of the Seattle Climate COOLective!
The City of Seattle is offering community groups graphic tools, practical instruction, organizational support and seed funding to design and implement a climate change engagement program tailored for their constituency. Your organization does not have to have a sustainability or climate change focus to be eligible. Your “climate change engagement program” would focus on whatever actions would be most appropriate and achievable for your particular community group. Selected groups would receive:
- Practical instruction and guided program planning in a supportive, peer-to-peer environment
- Access to adaptable outreach tools such as professionally designed graphics and event planning worksheets (Please visit www.imcoolcampaign.org for a sampling of available open-source tools!)
- Seed funding (grant funds) to help develop and deliver your program/campaign
This opportunity is specifically limited to community groups and organizations. Additionally, participants in this training are expected to be part of a team – whether it be from one organization or a team of representatives from 2 or more compatible and/or complimentary organizations.
This training is FREE. The deadline for applications is Friday, July 23rd, 2010. For more information, including proposed course dates, download the information form here:Program application can be downloaded here:
Celebrate Summer Streets in 2010!

Neighborhoods groups and the city of Seattle will team up again this year to create fun for residents on local streets and support nearby businesses through the Celebrate Seattle Summer Streets program. Starting in May and running through August, Celebrate Seattle Summer Streets events will be held in Ballard (May 21), Alki (May 23), Greenwood / Phinney Ridge (August 13), and the Rainier Valley (August 21). Now it its 3rd year, this program has become quite popular with residents and businesses alike and we encourage you to check out one of the events – even if it’s not your neighborhood.
