Give Your Car the Summer Off
We know that one size does not fit all. So we’re sharing lots of ways to get to your favorite summer events and destinations, saving money and reducing climate change pollution at the same time.
Start your urban adventure this summer below:
Transportation accounts for nearly half of the greenhouse gas emissions in Seattle. To make a significant difference in the city’s carbon footprint, residents are encouraged to reduce their personal driving by 1,000 miles annually – about 20 miles every week. One thousand fewer miles saves 1,000 pounds of climate pollution, and helps us meet our climate protection goals.

Climate Action Now Party Pack
This kit contains everything one needs to host a car-free summer party with friends and inspire on-the-spot action. Try setting up a walking school bus, an anti-idling campaign, a neighborhood carpool, or a public transit amazing race.
Car Free Days
The key to fighting global warming is finding better ways of getting around. That’s why we’re holding Car Free Days in Capitol Hill, Rainier Valley and Alki Beach. Since we were kids we’ve been told to stay out of the streets. Car Free Days allow you to experience how we could use our streets if more people walked, biked and took transit.
