Rainier Valley Seattle Summer Streets: Enjoy Your Street to the Fullest

Walk. Bike. Shop. Play. Breathe. On Saturday, August 8 Rainier Avenue S from S Orcas to Alaska Street is opening up between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The Rainier Valley Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the city to make this a great event.

What’s Happening

The Rainier Valley Chamber of Commerce is hosting Seattle Summer Streets with its annual Rainier Heritage Parade. The parade begins at 11 a.m. and lasts about an hour. After that, each block through Columbia and Hillman cities will have a different theme from music to healthy activities for people to enjoy.

Be sure to stop by our music stage to hear:
12:00 - 12:30 Abrace
12:35 - 1:15 Correo Aereo
1:25 - 1:55 ONE up TWO down
2:00 - 2:15 Etiquette
2:20 - 3:00 Gabriel Toredos

During the event, buses normally using Rainier Avenue are being detoured to Martin Luther King at S Orcas and S Alaska streets.

Draw or color what you like best about Rainier Valley—enter a contest and win prizes! Download this coloring sheet, or stop by Art Street during Summer Streets.
