Visit a Park: Summer Streets Parties
Throughout the summer, enjoy permanently open roads within several parks for people to walk, play and cycle. Parks include the western loop of Volunteer Park, lower loop of Seward Park, the Magnuson Lakefront Promenade and the old roads of Discovery Park.
What’s Happening
During the month of June the following parks will be featured:
Discovery Park: Sunday, June 7, 12-3 p.m.
Enjoy unstructured play time in the street. Explore the roads and trails at Discovery Park, teach your kids to ride a bike, take a stroll past historic buildings. Naturalist docents will be available to share knowledge at stations throughout the Parade Grounds and meadow and at the surrounding historic district and nearby meadow. Roads west of the north parking lot and south of the parade grounds are for people seven days a week year-round.
Other play opportunities might be a scavenger hunt, netting insects, checking out a Bald Eagle nest from a spotting scope, military history of the former Fort Lawton Grounds or flying a kite. It's your move.

Volunteer Park: Sunday, June 14, 12-3 p.m.
Starting at the Conservatory Circle, enjoy unstructured play time in the street. Explore the western loop on foot, teach your kids to ride a bike, take a stroll, enjoy the vistas without worrying about cars. This road is for people seven days a week year-round.
Other play opportunities might be ultimate frisbee, family games, sidewalk games, chalk art or conservatory tours. It's your move.

Seward Park: Sunday, June 21, 12-3 p.m.
Enjoy unstructured play time in the street. Explore the lower loop around the Seward Park peninsula on foot or bicycle, teach your kids to ride, take a stroll, enjoy the vistas without worrying about cars. This road is for people seven days a week year-round.
Other play opportunities might be eagle watching, exploring the lives of animals, helmet fittings and sales, and bicycling workshops. It's your move.

Magnuson Park: Sunday, June 28, 12-3 p.m.
Magnuson Park will include a street fest featuring live entertainment, booths, family orienteering expedition, street and sidewalk games, and much, much more! Meet and greet your neighbors!

Also during the months of May through September, Bicycle Sundays are being held along Lake Washington Boulevard every weekend. Seward Park’s upper road and Carkeek Park Road west of the Environmental Learning Center are being closed to cars on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All of these events are great opportunities to explore the parks. Stroll with family and friends in a safe environment, organize a neighborhood yoga session, all while connecting with neighbors and fully enjoying Seattle.
