U-District Seattle Summer Streets: Enjoy Your Street to the Fullest
Walk. Bike. Shop. Play. Breathe. On Saturday, July 11, University Way from 50th to 45th streets is being opened up between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The U-District Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the city to make this a great event.
What’s Happening
The U-District Chamber is extending the Farmer’s Market to include music, food tasting, shooting some hoops, hanging out with friends, sidewalk chalk art, sipping iced drinks while reading a good book and more. Experience lots of special sidewalk “happenings,” sales displays, and community information tables. Check out our map to see some of what is planned.
Leave your car at home! Bring your bike down, walk or bus to us (During this event buses normally using University Way are being detoured to 15th Avenue NE.). Bring your kids, visit the Farmers Market at NE 50th and mosey on down the Ave for some fun in the sun.
Are you an interested business who would like to participate? Visit the University District Chamber of Commerce website to learn more.
Getting There
Please make your trip to this Summer Streets event car-free. Cascade Bike Club plans to lead bike rides to the events from around town. Visit the Commuter Toolkit to learn more about other transportation options for this event and more.
